During a Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting, Dr. Yugandhar Ramakrishna noticed a critical issue at the Nalagampalli elementary school: with only one teacher for all five grades, the school was severely understaffed. Concerned that this could lead to reduced enrollment and a negative impact on the education of village students, he proposed an innovative solution: a program called Sandhya Samayam Chaduvu (Evening Education).
As part of this initiative, Dr. Yugandhar urged educated individuals from the village to dedicate just 30 minutes of their evenings to help the next generation learn the basics and bridge the gaps caused by understaffing. This initiative aimed to provide consistent support to the students, enhance their learning, reduce screen time, and address issues of indiscipline, ensuring a brighter future for the village children. The Mana Ooru Kosam Manam (We for Our Village) group eagerly embraced the program and announced it to the parents during the meeting.
To everyone’s delight, the very next day saw the enthusiastic participation of over 25 students and more than 5 volunteers, uplifting the spirits and demonstrating the community’s commitment to fostering better educational opportunities for the children of Nalagampalli.
